SUGAR COOPERATIVES
Jawahar Shetkari Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd. Dist. Kolhapur Areas of Excellence: · Has sound leadership legacy and strong membership base of 24945 members. · Excellent member-society linkage. · Adoption of the state of art technology for cane production, cane processing, harnessing of sugar by-products. · The mill has established power co-generation plant based on backpressure and excess power is supplied to MSEB grid. · The society has track record of making repayments in advance. · One of the major beneficiaries in the State of Maharashtra which has received a major chunk of assistance from Corporation for modernization/exp., cogeneration plant, godowns, working capital, computerization,etc.
Shri Datta Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd. Distt. Kolhapur Areas of Excellence: · The mill provides farm inputs and farm know how and cane varietal development to members. Imparts training programmes/workshops etc. · It is a winner of VSI Excellent Cane Management Award for the year 2001-02 for implementation of Cane Development scheme. · The society has diversified its activities to ensure value addition. It has set up by-product units like distillery, power co-generation and absolute alcohol plant. · It has been undertaking social-economic activities like establishment of community biogas plant, hospital & medical support.
Shri Pandurang Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd. Distt. Solapur · Efficient manpower, sophisticated plant & machinery and sound management are the key factors for success of the mill. · It has undertaken cane development activities for ensuring adequate raw material though out the season. · The capacity utilization of the sugar mill during the years from 2007-08 to 2008-09 ranged between 102 & 118%. The sugar recovery during the same period was between 12.11 & 12.35%.
FISHERIES COOPERATIVES
Karanja Macchimar Vividh Karyakari SahakariSociety Ltd. Distt. Raigad Areas of Excellence: · The society has strong membership base of 5,728 fishermen. · The member-society linkage is very strong through supply of fishing inputs such as diesel, oil, nets, engine spares, consumer items, etc. · The society has established workshop and boat building yard to provide repairs and maintenance services for boats and engines. · Being a primary fishermen coop. society has been achieving annual turnovers ranging between Rs.42.00 to Rs.46.00 crores. · The society has established Marathi & English medium High Schools at the Karanja Village for providing educational facilities. · The society has constructed hospital in the village and provides medical services.
Arnala Macchimar Vividh Karyakari Sahakari Society Ltd.,Distt. Thane Areas of Excellence: · The society has successfully developed system for marketing of members' produce both for export as well as for domestic sale. · Has established marketing and processing infrastructures such as ice plant and cold storage, boat building yard, workshop, etc. · Ensures supply of fishing inputs such as diesel, oil, net, boat, ice, etc., to members. · Provides credit facilities to members during fishing season as also during off-season. · The society has established English medium school at Arnala · The society is recipient of NCDC's Cooperative Excellence Award (2002).
Mondovi Fishermen Coop. Society Ltd., Panaji, Goa Areas of Excellence: · The member-society linkage is very strong for supply of fishing inputs such as diesel, oil, fishing nets, engine spares, etc. · The society provides facilities for marketing by organizing auctions at the jetty to ensure fair price the members produce. · The society has been maintaining and running fishing harbour (jetty), auctioning and grading platform at Malim Jetty. · The society has established 10 kiosks for retail vending of fresh fish at Malim jetty which are run by unemployed youth thereby by provide employment to about 30 youths. This is also ensuring availability of quality fresh fish at reasonable price to consumers. · It has established fishing net repair yard at Malim Jetty for the benefit of member fishermen. · The society is recipient of NCDC’s Cooperative Excellence Award(2004).
TEXTILES COOPERATIVES
Indira Sahakari Soot Girni Ltd., Dist. Kolhapur Areas of Excellence: · First women's coop spinning mill in the country. Model example of women achievement in the field of cooperative sector. · The distinct feature of this spinning mill is that it's an all woman society and about 80% of the employees are women. · The mill has installed the State of Art machinery and has a sophisticated laboratory, which has yielded excellent results in terms of quality and productivity. · The mill has established its brand name, IMCO and exports about 85% of the yarn production to countries like Canada, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, and Mauritius. · Has been accorded the status of 100% Export Oriented Unit to the mill by GOM. Has also been declared as Pioneer unit by SICOM and it provides benefits under the package scheme of incentives. · Has received Best Technical Performance award for two consecutive years.
Shetkari Sahakari Soot Girni Ltd., Dist. Kolhapur Areas of Excellence: · Cotton Development Scheme is being implemented for providing quality cottonseed to members. · The society ensures quality production and better returns to the cotton grower members. · A women's spinning mill has also been organised on the initiative of the society with a 25200 spindles capacity. · To generate employment for the jobless youth and to increase the living standards, the mill has established an Industrial Cooperative Estate. At present, 27 small-scale industries are running in the estate.
FRUITS & VEGETABLES COOPERATIVES
Nandani Bhajipala Va Phalphalawal Utpadak Sahakari Sangh Ltd., Dist. Kolhapur Areas of Excellence: · Engaged in domestic and export marketing of vegetables and fruits. · The society provides input support services to its members by supplying pesticides, seeds and technical know-how and also transport for collection of farm produce. · The society has developed domestic markets in metropolitan cities countrywide and exports fresh fruits to U.K., Gulf countries and to Netherlands.
Star Cashew Processing Industries Ltd., Dist. Kolhapur Areas of Excellence: · First cooperative Cashew Processing Unit in India which has been set up on most modern lines of processing and has become an example in the area. · Has trained and employed local women folk. · Has already achieved high reputation for quality of the product and packaging.
Goa Bagayatdar Sahakari Kharedi Vikri Sanstha Ltd., Ponda, Goa Areas of Excellence: · The society has strong society-member linkage has opened outlets for supply of quality inputs to members for ensuring enhanced and quality production. · The business turnover of the society has been consistently increasing and achieved annual turnover exceeding 137.00 crores. · Provides service for distribution of consumer articles and farm inputs at reasonable rates. · The recipient of Goa State Excellent Cooperative Society Award in 2001 and NCDC Cooperative Excellence Award twice during 2002 and 2010, respectively. |
