3. Successful Stories / Achievements:
a. Two States, namely Punjab and Haryana, falling under jurisdiction of this office, are among the front runners in the country in terms of agricultural production. NCDC has contributed in strengthening the cooperative structure in these States by creating necessary infrastructure for storage of food grains and agricultural inputs. 27.04 lakh MT storage capacity has been created in these States with the help of NCDC. NCDC has provided Rs.34593.05 lakhs to the Marketing Federations & Marketing Societies of these States for undertaking marketing business activities.
b. Assistance for Agro Processing has also been provided for value addition to the farmer’s produce. Rs.12836.825 lakhs have been released by NCDC for setting up agro-processing cooperative. Twenty Six Cooperative Sugar Mills have been set up in the State of Punjab and Haryana. Some of the mills like Budhewal Cooperative Sugar Mill, Budhewal, Distt. Ludhiana, Punjab, Nawanshahr Cooperative Sugar Mills, Nawanshahr, Distt. Nawanshahr (Punjab) & Shahbad Cooperative Sugar Mills, Shahbad, Distt. Kurukshetra (Haryana) are amongst the best cooperative sugar mills in the low recovery zone of the country. These mills have bagged prizes for their performance in different categories.
c. ICD Projects have been taken up in a big way in Haryana. State Govt. has availed assistance for 17 projects in the State. Details of the closed & ongoing projects are as follows:-

Total block cost of 17 projects: Rs.13749.715 lakh
NCDC’s share of assistance: Rs.12445.789 lakh
Projects completed: 11 (Bhiwani, Gurgaon, Sirsa, Ambala, Hissar, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Sonepat, Panipat & Rewari).
Projects ongoing: 6 (Yamunanagar, Faridabad, Mohindergarh, Jind, Rohtak, & Jhajjar).
d. 36 Poultry projects sanctioned in J&K at a block cost of Rs.987.09 lakh.
